Arrests

Individuals who use the Internet to seek out children do so because of the anonymity which exists online. This same "anonymity" is used by investigators who portray themselves as male and female teenagers online. Investigators with the District Attorney's Office and the Gilpin County Sheriff's Office go to online social networking sites where teenagers are actively being contacted by adults who seek out teenagers for sexual purposes. Investigators are now arresting adults who utilize cell phones to solicit children and teens for sexual purposes.

Paul Lee Riggs (DOB: 3/30/1978), Englewood, CO. Arrested 1/19/2005 for Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 6/5/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 8/3/2006 he was sentenced to 4-10 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 8 months work release.


Kenneth James Reinwald (DOB: 10/14/1969), Aurora, CO. Arrested 1/19/2005 for Enticement of a child, criminal attempt sex assault on a child and promotion of Obscenity of a Minor.
Status: Pled guilty on 10/24/2005 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assult on a Child. On 2/10/2006 he was sentenced to 5 years Intensive Supervision Probation.


Sean Justin Reyes (DOB: 5/7/1981), Golden, CO. Arrested 1/25/2005 for Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 8/25/2005 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assualt on a Child. On 11/3/2005 he was sentenced to On 12/13/05 he was re-sentenced to 6 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 18 months work release, and on 03/08/07 he was re-sentenced to 3 years Community Corrections.


Esteven Leroy Vigil (DOB: 9/11/1952), Thornton, CO. Arrested 2/4/2005 for Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 9/1/2005 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 9/1/2005 he was sentenced to 4 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 4 months work release, on 09/28/06 he was found guilty of Probation Violation and was sentenced on 11/03/06 to 2 years Department of Corrections


Gary Michael Heirshberg (DOB: 4/30/1976), Highlands Ranch, CO. Arrested 2/22/2005 for Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child, Enticement of a Child, Marihuana Possession Under 1oz., and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Status: Pled guilty on 7/20/2005 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 5/16/2005 he was sentenced to 6 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 4 months work release, on 10/16/06 he was re-sentenced to 6 years ISP and 360 days work release due to Probation Violation, and on 07/21/08 was re-sentenced to 3 years Community Corrections.


Patrick Ward Smith (DOB: 6/13/1977), Westminster, CO. Arrested 3/19/2005 for Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child.
Status: Pled guilty on 8/17/2005 to added charge of Sexual Assault on a Child. On 5/16/2005 he was sentenced to 4 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 96 hours of Useful Public Service.


Justin Wade Bassett (DOB: 8/11/1980), Littleton, CO. Arrested 5/3/2005 for Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child and Enticement of a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 2/21/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 4/25/2006 he was sentenced to 3 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 96 hours of Useful Public Service.


Robert Scott Cain (DOB: 12/21/1977), Lakewood, CO. Arrested 5/5/2005 for Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 11/21/2005 to added charge of Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 4/25/2006 he was sentenced to 5 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 1 year work release.


Kevin Lee Weller (DOB: 7/19/1978), Littleton, CO. Arrested 7/8/2005 for Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance over 1 gram, Criminal Attempt Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Enticement of a Child, and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. Status
Status: Pled guilty on 1/23/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance over 1 gram. On 3/23/2006 he was sentenced to 4 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 120 days work release.



Kenneth OGrady (DOB: 4/7/1959), Littleton, CO. Arrested 6/17/2005 for Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 12/29/2005 to added charge of Enticement of a Child. On 2/10/2006 he was sentenced to 10 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 1 year work release. On 01/11/07 he was re-sentenced to 10 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 2 years Community Corrections.



Timothy Scott Hansen (DOB: 1/29/1955), Lincoln, Nebraska. Arrested 7/25/2005 for Promotion of Obscenity to a Minor, Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child, Criminal Attempt Sexual Exploitation of a Child, and Indecent Exposure
Status: Pled guilty on 12/1/2006 to added charge of Promotion of Obscenity to a Minor and Indecent Exposure. On 4/23/2007 he was sentenced to 4 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 60 days in jail.


Sean David Garrison (DOB: 1/4/1974), Westminster, CO. Arrested 7/31/2005 for Enticement of a Child, Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child, and Sexual Exploitation of a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 5/10/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Exploitation of a Child. On 7/6/2006 he was sentenced to 20 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 1 year work release. On 11/20/07 he was re-sentenced to 4 years Community Corrections. On 09/08/09 his sentenced was revoked and he was re-sentenced to 4 years Department of Corrections with 60 months Parole.


Phillip A. Reynes (DOB: 10/1/1959), Denver, CO. Arrested 8/15/2005 for Promotion of Obscenity to a Minor
Status: Pled guilty on 6/2/2006 to added charge of Promotion of Obscenity to a Minor. On 8/3/2006 he was sentenced to 2 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 96 hours of Useful Public Service. On 10/24/06 he was re-sentenced to 1 year Department of Corrections.


William J. Debenedittis (DOB: 1/17/1980), Evergreen, CO. Arrested 9/21/2005 for Soliciting Child Prostitution and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault
Status: Pled guilty on 4/21/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault. On 6/2/2006 he was sentenced to 3 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 60 hours Useful Public Service.



John Christopher Roberts (DOB: 3/17/1981), Lakewood, CO. Arrested 10/19/2005 for Enticement of a Child, Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child, and Sexual Assault
Status: Pled guilty on 4/21/2006 to added charge of Enticement of a Child. On 4/21/2006 he was sentenced to 4 years Intensive Supervision Probation.



Jeremiah Witherwax (DOB: 8/4/1980), Lakewood, CO. Arrested 11/4/2005 for Enticement of a Child and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child
Status: Pled guilty on 4/21/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 4/21/2006 he was sentenced to 2 years Intensive Supervision Probation and 60 days work release.



Sushil Panchal (DOB: 5/22/1981), India. Arrested 11/22/2005 for Enticement of a Child, Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child, and Criminal Attempt Contributing Delinquency of a Minor
Status: Pled guilty on 1/9/2006 to added charge of Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child. On 1/9/2006 he was sentenced to 3 years Department of Corrections which was suspended as he was deported. If he is to return he will serve sentence in DOC


Ronald Jared Young (DOB: 7/1/1986), Littleton CO. Arrested 1/1/2005 for Internet Luring of a Child w/ Intent to Exploit
Status: Pled guilty on 6/8/2009 to added charge of Unlawful Sexual Contact. On 12/21/2009 he was sentenced to 2 years Probation.
